Revisiting Friendship

Saturday: That evening, I went swimming! After two weeks of accumulated non-exercising, I did 24 laps – shiok! Still, I feel rather unhealthy. I wished I could exercise more throughout the week. After swimming, it was a sumptuous dinner at my other grandma’s house. One of THE best home cooked food ever, of course, my mum’s would still be the best. And I’m sure this would apply to mostly everyone.

Sunday: I accompanied my relatives to go visit my Ah Ma’s younger brother who’s suffering from leukaemia. My dad drove us all the way to SGH to pay him a visit – due to his weak immune system, we were to wear masks and sanitise our hands before we could enter his one-patient ward. He was still in high spirits and he could even recognise me, someone he’s only seen once ever in his entire life. He even remembered my elder brother being in Australia. No matter how optimistic things look, the fact is that a very malign illness is still ruining his insides. But he’s strong, and he didn’t let it get to him. Being at SGH again reminded me so much of the days when I went there ever so often to visit my aunt back in secondary two before she passed on. It’s been so many years.

After lunch and dropping my relatives off at their respective humble abodes, it was finally home sweet home. Not long after, I received Raymond’s SMS to meet for dinner. The meeting time was 6pm but as expected, only Raymond and I were punctual. Sean and Seekai said they were on their way since 6pm but they only arrived at 7.30pm -.- Willfred was asleep so when we called him at six, we actually woke him up. Haha, he was so nice to actually come down! Dinner was at Changing Appetites! It’s serves quite nice western food. The dessert looks simply mouth watering but dinner was enough to fill us to the brim. Saykok came and joined us midway! And afterwhich, he drove everyone home! He’s so super kind!

First he dropped Seekai off, after which it was Sean, then Raymond, followed by Willfred and finally, Myself! He bothered to send everyone right to their doorsteps! Talk about being a really nice friend! Oh yes, and thank you for the present too! IT’s been so many weeks and you still remember – I really appreciate it! =)

It’s so nice meeting up with the guys again, albeit a small bunch of them. It feels good. It makes up for not meeting the others who have their own commitments. What can I say but a resigned ‘O well’.
