So today, I did something awfully fun! I went to play badminton, after such a long time! I realized I kinda miss it! R was kind enough to invite me along and when he mentioned friends, I assumed it’d be people your age and mine but it turned out to be people way older. Okay, so there’s this other pretty matured looking dude who’s his cousin, who’s my age, but other than him, the next oldest guy is at least 10 years older. So it was such-I was to play against, and watch, this 8 super good badminton players strut their stuff. Daunting initially, no doubt but after a bit, you kinda feel more at ease so it becomes really good fun. His other older cousin’s this really hilarious guy, a joker really, so there were tons of witty comments. The rest of the guys , being guys, they kept the friendly banter going as the game progressed. It was really enjoyable sitting on the sidelines and just laughing along. Watching those badminton pros sport such nifty footwork and elegant stance while getting at the shuttles is damn cool, really. Too bad I’m still the noob I’ve always been.
R’s dad and youngest sister were there too! I can’t help but keep gushing about how adorable she is. So she was playing this cooking game on her DS, the one which I first knew existed when Steven showed it to me, and I tried to be friendly and talked to her. She warmed up to me really quickly, so it made the day all the more memorable. Aw, sweet. I made a new friend!
Anyway, my brother and I made a pact-that we would watch the super long Curious Case of Benjamin Button together. So this weekend, he kept bugging me to go watch it. Initially, it was to be his friends and I, but only one friend could make it and he said that particular friend does something weird, that is his friend has pictures of me even though he knows nuts about me, ‘cept for the fact that I’m the sister. I find it a tad zany. So he decided ‘NO’, it was to be just the two of us. We were supposed to ask L along but that dude was busy. So I asked R along, and I even pitched the idea to his sister and she was so excited about it! But he said he needed to go home to freshen up so I actually tagged along to his house. His mum’s pretty. Well no wonder his sisters look so sweet. Anyway, alas, it was not meant to be. (I know it adds this super un-called for melodramatic effect, but just for fun.) Due to several constraints, it was just me and my brother eventually.
Through it all, we sat, for a good 2 hours and 46 minutes. Talk about making your $10 movie ticket on a weekend worth it. The movie… the movie… it leaves me with mixed feelings. Because well, the whole concept is pretty absurd, that of time moving backwards. But then again, you get to see the arduous process of ‘growing old’ in a whole new light. Interesting, but not that the movie gets away scot-free without demerits.
OH! Speaking of screenings, I’m going to borrow my cousins’ pirated ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ DVD to watch tomorrow! I absolutely cannot wait!
