Are you MARRIED?!

Thursday: I have an ex-teacher who sometimes reveals too much. I went to class today and the neighbouring class, whom I’ve also relieved before, starting telling me about how their teacher (who is also my ex-teacher) told them about my study style and how I was possibly one of her best students, stuff like that. It’s so embarrassing. So the kids went on and on and on… Man, I wish the teacher hadn’t talked so much.

My first period class disappeared today. I went to the classroom where they were supposed to be but they weren’t there. Since it was only half the class, and the last time I relieved that half of the class they merely went about doing their own thing, I figured they could take care of themselves. So I went about doing my own stuff, which was basically nothing to do.

I took a combined class later on at the computer lab and there were some arrangements to be made about transferring the kids to a better lab, so I had to go find the IT people. So while I was talking to this guy, Dennis, my students were at the back gesturing – plastering a huge smile on their face and putting their thumbs together to signify people who are dating. I got them to stop. After that, those kids asked me, “Cher, can I ask you a question? Are you MARRIED?” I swear I did a double-take. Haha, I found it simply hilarious more so than insulting that my kids think I look old enough to have found a life partner. Following which, I had to answer their whole string of questions about my non-existent love life.

And recently, Atikah, Zul and I have been gossiping so damn much. LOL. It’s actually pretty fun you know. Our topics are mostly about stuff that happened in the past, so it ain’t malicious or anything like that. It’s more of a nostalgic thing I guess and it helps that we share so many common friends; it’s rare that names are mentioned and someone goes “Who’s that?” Talk about nostalgia, this picture reminded me of those days in the torture chamber:

Those were the uniform-ed days!

Anyway, I missed the application for the NUS scholarship by one freaking day and I’m feeling so raw about it. DAMNNIT. If I had applied and gotten it, at least I wouldn’t have to spend so much of my Dad’s money. SIGH. I missed one damn good opportunity.

Friday: I am still feeling pretty upset over the NUS scholarship. WHY COULDN’T I HAVE BEEN MORE PROACTIVE? It’s the first thing I thought about when I woke up – bad day.

There’s no school today because they’re having their sports day! It’s at Bedok Stadium and it’s a stone throw away from my house but none of my friends are going, so never mind. I would have liked to go though.

I’m gonna meet a senior for dinner later! Finally, some contact with my social life again after two weeks! =)
