Wednesday: I took chinese classes today, therefore my tongue was coerced into acclimatising. But it was quite fun, and my students took the liberty of speaking Mandarin as well. It's so adorable when they go 'Qie qie lao shi... Lao shi zai jian!' =D Awww...
I also realised my vocab sucks :( I could barely help one class with their vocab words, argh.
Today's one of the rare days my cousin fell ill. Although I will later learn that he couldn't bear to leave his cosy bed when it was raining so heavily outside as well.
Thursday: I Am Tired. Very so. Today's classes were all very manageable- I wasn't close to bursting a vessel at any class! Although my last class went missing -.- Anyway, it's really nice being able to talk to my students about their future plans. I like the feeling that I'm in a position to give advice, and that I can make a difference, no matter how small.
I tutored the Chinese girl after school today, and I will be doing so again on Saturday. I really want her to improve! She has so much potential.
Afterwhich, I met Yip Kai to help him with his essay. WAAAAAHHHH. His topic is so not-me. But since I agreed to help, I'll try my very best.
And recently, the issue of elitism has gotten to me again.
You're from a neighbourhood school, you're labelled as a bad nut. You're from some reknown school, you're perceived as an angel. I've been through average and good schools, I've had my fair share of experiences. No matter how people like to think that elitism is overrated, it really isn't.
When I was in Tao Nan, they had the GEP. When I was in Changkat, they had practically every other school glowing over the fact that they were way better than us. When I was in TJ, they had the TA. And these students obviously like to think they rule, while the rest can only watch by the sidelines and drool.
They're so damn wrong. One thing's for sure, it's awesome being the underdog and that's one feeling no smart-assed fella can ever steal.
