Life's back in motion

Gee, I realised I haven't been properly updating for a couple of days now. Looks like I actually had a life this weekend XD Before I forget, let's go back in time:

FRIDAY: In between lessons, I received one of the most joy-bringing SMSes in a long, long time. Steven mass SMSed us that our old friend was back! HA! That would undoubtedly be none other Mr. Lim Khyhong! Gosh, it's been so long since he was back.

I was supposed to meet ZY for dinner that evening, Shem had her Mother's Day dinner on so she couldn't join us. What was to be our er ren shi jie was joined by a whole bunch of other friends, not that we minded one bit at all, because our dearest Khyhong was in the midst!

While waiting for the guys (we were early and they were surprisingly on time!), ZY brought me to this Cookie Museum at the Esplande. GOODNESS, the cookies there are really heavenly. And the shop itself looks like something out of your princess setting, what with the gorgeous china and lovely wallpaper. The salesgirl who served us, Stellina (I loveeee unique names!), made the cookie tasting experince so much more memorable because her service was simply impeccable.

Khyhong arrived with Lizheng and this Vietnamese guy called Ricky, who brought this other 3 friends of his along, all of which have never met Khyhong until that day... so um, it kinda beats me why he asked them along. Still, they were really nice girls although we didn't talk much.

I helped with the ordering (it's actually pretty fun!) and who knew, the bamboo shoots costs a table of 10 people $120 *whistles* Woooo, is that munching on Gold or what? Steven joined us after we started, following him came Sean and Seekai. I was remarking about how it really seemed like a racial harmony dinner, in the sense that we had Cambodia, China, Hongkong, Singapore & Vietnam present at the table. Until that Lizheng rebuked by pointing out that all of us were more or less the same race, so technically I was wrong since the difference laid in the nationality. Whatever, Lizheng and I bickered the whole way that night. HAHA, got me in stitches man. As you can probably figure, his Achilles’ heel was the fact that he repeated. Lol.

Raymond came down as well, and so did Saykok, GS, and PC. We had a leisure walk from Esplanade to Clarke Quay, and after walking around the entire night life area for quite a while in search for a place that would sit 11, we found ourselves at this place called Tapas Tree, some Spanish restaurant. That night was also the first night I saw people queuing up to enter the clubs there, wahhh, quite a cool sight. I didn’t know people took the pains to dress up when they wanted to go clubbing. Just that queue of people, you could find more people who dressed to the nines than if you strolled along orchard road man. I ordered this Mojito drink, with kind recommendations from Khyhong. Just as ZY and I were leaving, Ryan came. And just as we left, Travun & Philip came.

It was quite an enthralling experience for ZY and I that night because we took the last train bound for Habourfront. And after we alighted at Outram, we took the last train bound for Pasir Ris. WAH, can you imagine if we didn’t make it? We would be so outright sian. And what do you know? We saw the guys boarding at CityHall station, and they were drenched in perspiration. Haha, well who asked them to leave later than us, so they had to sprint all the way to the MRT station. Saykok was such a dear, he walked me home at 12.30am, and I sure was thankful for that! =D

SATURDAY: I had lunch at my grandma’s house before I met AJ at Bedok – we were gonna go see Illuma, the new mall at Bugis! When you first step into the mall, it kinda reminds you of both Cine and Far East, what with all the little push carts around. The next thing that strikes you would be how damn spacious the whole mall is, the ceiling’s so high and the whole layout is so spaced out. They also have this chao ji long escalator that brings you from the 1st all the way up to the 4th floor. Good business tactic, because then people will have to go down floor by floor and in the process of doing so, they’ll shop! They’re also quite a few boutiques selling men’s clothes, but AJ practically wrinkled his nose at the apparel, ‘not his style’ you see. Haha...

After that, we walked to esplanade because I wanted to buy those super expensive cookies I saw at Cookie Museum the day before. Yes, super expensive is an understatement - $38/tin. Worst than CNY cookies times two, worst than Famous Amos. But taste SOOOO good, and I take comfort in the fact that I think the ingredients are imported from Paris, good stuff eh! After that, we sat by the open space where there were these few super talented musicians performing, and the opening number was this song called ‘Someone Special’ – about the thoughts a father and his daughter never speaks of. It moved me to tears la, I don’t know why. I'm usually pretty unaffected by songs, but that song really struck a chord in me. I purposely took out my phone to fiddle with so I could get distracted. After a few song renditions, we went to Azabu Sabo at Marina Square to have dessert – Hokkaido hotballs! Lucky we made it just in time for their tea time special which ends at 6pm!

I was supposed to meet Ryan but my brother called me up last minute to ask me to accompany him and his sugar daddy to go watch Star Trek at Plaza Sing. He says it’s damn gay if it’s just the two of them. So I had to pang seh Ryan, sorry! >.<

I met Boey Young and Jonas who left shortly after I arrived. So then, it was the three of us. Star Trek was A.W.E.S.O.M.E. Everything that's written in the movie reviews about it that's good, it's damn true! After the movie, they went to the arcade and I had to tag along again. Luckily Ian accompanied me some part of the torture of watching my brother display his fighting skills on a silly machine -.-

SUNDAY: Today is MOTHER’S DAY! I went to the market bright and early to buy some food that my Mum likes, and I cooked her my ‘oh-so-famous’ egg bread, in the shape of a heart, awww! I had tuition at my cousin’s house after lunch before all my relatives came as well because we were gonna have home-made popiah! It tastes so good! I swear, once you’ve eaten home-made popiah, the ones they sell outside are practically inedible XD And in order to maintain fairness, after this grandma, my parents drove to my other grandma’s house. I love my granny visits!!!

MONDAY: After that scrumptious dinner yesterday, we were all thinking very much about the popiah so we went my Grandma’s house to eat again. Haha, since it was off-in-lieu for Saturday’s Vesak Day, my brother came along as well. After lunch, it was tuition for my cousin again. That evening, I went jogging with Wee, Willfred & Saykok. Don’t ask me why we did that out of the blue, but we did. Haha, come to think of it, it was actually quite fun, but STRESSFUL. One girl running with three guys, the pressure’s on me to keep up man. And to think I haven’t been exercising constantly either. We ran for about... 45 minutes I would think? From the staircase at my house, we made a loop around TJ and then we jogged all the way straight pass Temasek Secondary to Eastwood and finally to Saykok’s new home! It’s a lovely place, very Zen as well, very spacious. Aiya, I gotta admit, I have friends whose parents are loaded man. After the run, I jogged with Saykok from his house back to block 168 where we had dinner – Wee and Willfred jogged home for dinner, yes it’s crazy, we were at Tanah Merah and one lives in Simei, the other Tampines -.-

TUESDAY: Invigilation in full swing starts today and my god, it is so boring. Alex is came to stand in for any teacher who goes on MC but that doesn’t really help alleviate the pain of going through invigilation. That morning, Bing Sheng was late and the first words Alex said to me after ‘Hello’ was, ‘Where’s Bing Sheng?’ -.- I swear I got used to it so it’s not weird anymore. After morning assembly, I dropped by Bing Sheng’s table and there I saw Alex’s bag. HAHA. Tell me about it. Tuition was on today again, and it’s actually the3rd day in a row I'm meeting my cousin. And after tuition, we always play badminton in her front yard, so it’s kinda like tuition-cum-PE. Ha.

WEDNESDAY: Alex made improvement today, he actually sits on a different aisle from Bing Sheng; he took over Kenny’s desk since Kenny’s gone back to NIE – aw I miss Kenny la, he’s so nice. Invigilation was boring, but since I kinda know what to expect, I got used to it. I'm actually thankful when the students have questions to ask me, or when they wanna go to the toilet, or when their scripts drop and I have to pick up for them; when you’re moving about with something to do, your mind actually works. Other than that, it’s as good as dead -.- You stare at the students until you wanna fall asleep.

I left school early today so I bought lunch back for my Mum and I. I felt so happy after lunch I went to sleep, hur, wasted away my afternoon. Anyway, I talked to Zul tonight and the four of us – her, Atikah, Rach and myself – are going for lunch together this Friday! YAY! Finally some female company, I'm so craving it! XD

And I tell you, it’s been a while since I’ve felt so entertained by somebody. I'm actually feeling pretty happy, for nothing! =D
