The Tenth Circle

Thursday: After school, after alumni tuition, and after going home, I went off to PS to meet Darrell and his friends for Wolverine! I found him at KFC and he was with: Ian (his Suger Daddy, coined by yours truly), Weihua (his [un]official boyfriend), Guang Kai (one whom I actually failed to recognise) and Johnny (the affable one). Awaiting our arrival outside the cinema was Jarrel Tan (the computer pro), Mark (the pansy, although I don't know why it's that) and Darren (Zapdos Wee, um, the screwed up one according to them).

Wolverine was really action packed right from the start to the end, and there were quite a few punchlines that got the cinema laughing. Not a bad show, but too bad I had to watch it on the eve of a public holiday so it was ten dollars *glum*

Afterwhich, as usual, they went to the arcade to play games. I tagged along and purposely made my displeasure and boredem evident so Darrell would go home quickly. Turned out, I accompanied him on his senseless money-cum-time wasting activities for about an hour and a half. Luckily, Matthew and Cleeon came along so I had a wider selection of people to talk to, given the limited genre of topics that I might share with them.

On our way home, we saw the police cordon off the foot of a HDB block near my house. To our utmost surprise, it was actually because someone was intending to commit suicide. And the whole spectacle had actually attracted a really large crowd who were all miling around waiting intently for something to happen. Being atypical curious people, we glanced up to find a small figure dangling his legs precariously over the edge on one of the uppermost floors. Directly below him, the police had already blown up this super huge yellow air bag that looked so boucy, any small kid would be tempted to start jumping on to test the elasticity. We didn't stay to watch but continued on way, albeit very slowly, and perpetually gearing our heads in the direction of the whole episode. Looking.. looking, the kid shakily stood up and with a hand that reached out to him like a saviour, he grabbed it tightly and helped himself over the railing. *Applause* I think, isn't it usually the case that the moment there's hestitation, the person will ultimately lose that courage, or inane ability, to take his life. And during the whole process of which the angel tries to clear the doubts that shroud this almost certain outcome, the police are in fact wasting their resources, having to go to lengths to make sure the person fails in his foolish attempt. I sound so tactless. Maybe because I've never been close enough to suicide to breathe in its dangerous air of the end.

Friday: I gave tuition today and I stayed back at my cousin's house to play Jenga. It's been so long since I indulged in such traditional, heart warming games which render so much thigh slapping episodes -.-

I was supposed to meet a portion of 11/07 for dinner but my Dad said that we're to celebrate Mother's Day in advance with my grandma so I couldn't go. Anyway, Eehwee called and told me two pieces of news: one good, and one just downright incredulous. The good news is, she's been accepted into WKWSCI so if I do go there, she'll be my roomie. The incredulous news is, Shicong (my official arch enemy in JC, haha, but we both know we totally rock each other's world right Shicong, like l.i.t.e.r.a.l.l.y...) has a girlfriend! Eehwee gave me her name and I almost instinctively grabbed the JC yearbook on my table and started looking for who she is. Hey, well, I'm hapy for Shicong you know! That's why I was in such a hurry. Too bad I couldn't recognise her, don't recall seeing her in school. Anyway, I just hope Shicong treats her well. Ummm, yeah.

Saturday: I finished The Tenth Circle by Jodi Picoult at 12.08am today. And I'm so in awe of the way she's able to write so well. First of all, she's such a thinker and she's able to weave the nondescript everyday events of the characters into the plot so beautifully. It was really one book I had to chiong. Thanks Zann for loaning this book! XD

I'm gonna have dinner with Jerome later so I think I'll go take a nap in the meantime. I've been feeling so grouchy the whole afternoon. Oh yeah, and Steven called to complain how badly he did for the test. LOL, he did so badly thanks to his carelessness. But I'm happy for him that he's still probably able to get a distinction even with such crappy time management skills duirng the exam -.-
