I passed my afternoon by catching one of the most epic movies ever - V for Vendetta! OH MY, I can still taste the sweetness of the entire experience that movie gave me. I swear it's so damn bloody good, in two hours, it related to you an entire plot which actually made good sense. And I don't know why but the way the actors spoke, their enunciation was so crystal clear and not to mention the acting was near flawless. I LOVE the show. The script is so elegantly written, and it was pulled off by actors who handled it with such aplomb. And of course, not to mention the healthy dose of humour that was present, enough to glue your ass to the seat and your eyes to the screen and your ears to the audio. God, I cannot help but keep reeling over the movie. The actors were able to bring out the raw feelings of the characters and you could almost feel the pain of the damsel in distress and the ingenuity of V, it feels like an awesome roller coaster ride, one in which you never wanna get off but simply ride along the waves of exhilaration as the story unfolds.
Anyway, I had to finish the movie before I was willing to leave my seat and go get ready. Darrell tagged along because he wanted to drop by Sunshine Plaza (wherever that is) to go get some anime crap that always cost a bomb. Jerome got me falling for a lie the moment I said 'Hi'. He wasn't wearing spects so I asked if he was wearing contacts. He got into this really serious story about how he was looking at this squirrel on the tree one day and he whacked his head on a tree, he fainted and when he regained consciousness, he found that he had perfect eyesight. Sounds like bullshyte right? My sentiments exactly but he kept with the facade and I honestly fell for it because I didn't think he would lie AND I tried to peer into his eyes countless times to search for any sign of some lenses and I swear I saw it but I figured it was the lights playing tricks on my eyes. Gah, can't believe I was so dumb, but he kept up with the joke for a good 20 minutes, I never knew anyone that bored. Haha, Jerome, you're gonna get it from me some day man! I. Mean. It. ;p
He suggested Anston's but there was a friggin queue and I HATE queuing for my food so we teleported up and down Cathay at least 5 times in search of something to stuff down our gullets. Finally, we had to settle on Billy Bomber's because there was no other place. And I didn't really have a good experience because they seemed to have so many staff around but when you wanted to place your order, no one sees your arm; no one bothers to help you check why your food is taking so friggin long to arrive; no one notices your table is shaky until you've endured it for the first half of your visit there (why is the table even shaky in the first place??); no one offers to top up your iced water until your food has all been cleared; no one sees your waving arm once again when you want to foot the bill; at least someone notices you when you're leaving the restaurant. They can't wait for their customers to get lost, I bet. Don't like the service man, AT ALL. To think they had this two men there who looked like managers, for show, if you ask me. They don't bother to ask how's your meal either.
As soon as we were out, I received an SMS from my Mum saying that my brother had passed his second solo! I AM SO DELIRIOUSLY HAPPY FOR HIM! XD XD XD
Anyway Jerome, it was nice seeing you again after a month or so (= Thanks for everything today.
I met my brother and we made our way home together. As we walked home from Bedok Interchange, we started reminising about the good 'ol days when our dear Bedok South Primary still existed. The events that took place at the bus-stop outside the school, and how my Mum always worries for Darrell but never for me, not that I minded. I guess she groomed me to be independent since young. Some things never changes, she still makes it a point to tell him what to have for breakfast the night before, lest he forgets to eat in the morning in his haste to rush for his school bus. Yes, let's chortle about the fact that he still rides to school in a school bus at age eighteen, HA HA. But can't blame him, the school's really quite far, even so, he's really quite lazy for a fact.
No one attempted to commit suicide today, not that we saw. Sometimes, the harsh reality doesn't present itself right before your very eyes.
